So, the set up for my packaging tape transfer went really well! I was able to hang it in the window quite easily, and I think it looks great with that blue sky pouring through the image. It's also interesting to see how the piece doesn't look like much from the outside, but great on the inside.

So after a lot of confusion and work to get it printed I was able to get the image to come out! After I printed the image I lined up all the papers and then laid packaging tape straight on the image. The next step will be to dunk the entire image in water then eat away the paper so what you have left is the image on the tape! I'm gonna wait to do this til maybe the day before the crit so that the tape maintains it's stickiness for the window.

This is the final image I have worked up for my packaging tape transfer project! I'm loving all the variety I'm getting within the grayscale, and all the detail and fine points look great in the printed version!
(completed size will be 28"x36")

For this final project, I want to work with doing a new method that I've been developing and do a packaging tape transfer installation. I've been working with personal photography and symbolic imagery and text to create unique "see-through" imagery.

Recently I discovered that these prints create great window clings and really allow for an interesting combination of color and imagery to interact with the print. I think that viewing these "clings" in the gallery space is equally as interesting as the photo's that come from the installation.

I have a book of Parachute pictures and interesting skylines, that I want to add in combination to my own personal imagery to create an interesting dynamic.

I talked to Sunny about putting the window cling on in the main stairwell, but do to fire code i'll have to move it to one of the panels in the lobby area. I think it will be a challenge making such a large print, but i really think it will pay off in the end to have such a resolved and full idea.
